Walnut, Calif. – In recognition of their stellar season, the South Coast Conference has announced its All-Conference selections in both singles and doubles, with several standout athletes from Mt. San Antonio College earning top honors. The awards highlight outstanding performances from the Mt. SAC Women's Tennis Team throughout the year, recognizing both individual players and the team as a whole for their excellence on the court.
Mt. SAC made an impressive showing in the First Team Singles category, with four athletes earning spots: Julianna Vich, Paige Valenzuela, Kasandra Uy, and Mia Vo. Each of these players showcased exceptional skill and determination, delivering consistent, high-level performances that were instrumental to the team's success this season.
Adding to the list of honorees, Sichen Chang was named to the Second Team Singles, further solidifying Mt. SAC's reputation as a powerhouse program within the conference.
The Mounties' success extended to doubles play, where they continued to dominate. Two pairs—Vich / Valenzuela and Uy / Tabitha Ortiz—were selected for First Team Doubles honors. Their strong chemistry, strategic play, and synergy on the court played a crucial role in the team's overall performance.
Meanwhile, the duo of Emma Cervantes and Vo earned Second Team Doubles recognition, proving to be a formidable pair and contributing valuable points throughout the season.
In addition to individual accolades, Mt. SAC was named South Coast Conference Team Champion for the second consecutive year, a testament to the depth, skill, and hard work of the entire program—from players to coaching staff.
A dominant force in both singles and doubles play, Vich was named South Coast Conference Player of the Year. As a repeat champion in both categories, Vich's consistent excellence and competitive spirit set her apart. Her outstanding performance throughout the season, along with her strong leadership on the court, firmly established her as the conference's top player.
The program's success would not be complete without the leadership of Head Coach Lee Shiomoto, who was named SCC Coach of the Year. His commitment to developing talent and fostering a winning team culture has clearly paid off, with the Mounties continuing to rise as one of the top programs in the Southern California.
Congratulations to the Mt. SAC Women's Tennis Team on these well-deserved honors. Best of luck in your postseason journey—go Mounties!
