Los Angeles, Calif. – In their highest scoring game of the season, the Mt. SAC Women's Soccer Team took down the LA Harbor Seahawks 6-0 for their fifth straight win on Tuesday, October 21. Notably, four of those five victories have come by shutout, highlighting the Mounties' impressive defense. With the win, Mt. SAC improves to 9-2-3 overall (.750) and remains undefeated in South Coast Conference play at 4-0. Meanwhile, LA Harbor continues to struggle, falling to 1-12-2 overall and 0-4 in conference play.

HOW IT HAPPENED:

Mt. SAC wasted no time setting the tone, with Hannah Zuniga put them on the board in the 11th minute off an assist from Emma Malana. The Mounties doubled their lead in the 32nd minute when Sofia Torres finished a setup from Zophia Romero, taking a 2-0 advantage into halftime.

The second half was all Mt. SAC, as they exploded for four more goals. Bella Gomez started the scoring spree in the 58th minute with an unassisted goal, followed by Samantha Sanchez just five minutes later with her first goal of the season. In the 68th minute, Sanchez returned the favor by assisting Nadine Padilla to make it 5-0. Torres closed out the match with her second goal of the day in the 75th minute, this time assisted by Gomez.

The Mounties were dominant on both ends of the field, scoring on all six of their shots on goal while limiting LA Harbor to zero shots. Goalkeepers Makenna Servello and Abigail Benavides combined for the shutout, with neither needing to make a save thanks to a strong defensive effort.
