Walnut, Calif. – After suffering back-to-back losses to Santa Barbara and Cypress, the Mt. SAC Women's Soccer Team bounced back with a hard-fought 1-0 victory over Chaffey College on Friday, October 3. With the win, the Mounties improve to 5-2-3 on the season, while the Panthers drop to 6-3-1.

HOW IT HAPPENED:

Right from the start, both teams battled it out in a physical and high-paced matchup. The first half ended scoreless, but not without consequence—two Mounties were sidelined with injuries during the aggressive exchanges.

The breakthrough came late in the match when Eden Ramirez found the back of the net in the 85th minute, breaking the deadlock and putting Mt. SAC ahead. Goalkeeper Zanette Gonzalez played a pivotal role in preserving the lead, recording five key saves to secure the shutout and the win for the Mounties.

NEXT UP:

The Mounties kick off conference play on Tuesday, October 7, when they host Cerritos College at 6:00 PM. Let's keep the momentum rolling!
