Mijares, Aquino score two each to lead Mt. SAC Women's Soccer to SCC crossover win against Cerritos

(Walnut, CA) It didn't take host Mt. San Antonio College long to score all the goals it needed to defeat Cerritos College (3-11, 3-4) in their South Coast Conference crossover matchup on Tuesday, Oct. 24. Kristin Mijares provided that in the 3rd minute on an unassisted score. From there, the Mounties (13-2-2, 6-0-1) added six more goals to cruise to a 7-0 victory.

Mijares added another unassisted goal in the 37th minute, while teammates Veronica Aquino (25th and 84th minutes), Gabriella Sanchez (35th minute), Kathryn Davis (36th minute) and Zuhayle Diaz (85th minute) also scored unassisted goals to round out Mt. SAC's scoring.

Goalies Anai Olmedo (45 minutes, two saves) and Karissa Macias (45 minutes, two saves) combined to keep the Falcons scoreless.

Currently ranked No. 3 in the state on the most recent California Community College Sports Information Associate poll, the Mounties hit the road for an SCC North game at Rio Hondo College (8-4-2, 4-3) on Friday, Oct. 27, at 6 p.m. Mt. SAC currently sits atop the SCC North standings ahead of Pasadena City College (12-2-4, 5-2).
