Mountie Women Soccer blanks El Camino in SCC crossover play

(Walnut, CA) Ranked No. 4 in the most recent California Community College Sports Information Association state poll, host Mt. San Antonio College (7-2-1, 1-0) opened its South Coast Conference schedule with a 2-0 crossover win against El Camino College (5-3-1, 0-1) on Tuesday, Oct. 3.

Veronica Aquino put the Mounties on the board in the 12th minute on an assist from Natalia Reyes. Brianna Bernal added another goal for the home team in the 22nd minute, on an assist from Aquino, to conclude the game's scoring.

Goalie Anai Olmedo recorded her fifth shutout of the season for Mt. SAC, making two saves in 90 minutes.

The Mounties travel to Wilmington to face Los Angeles Harbor College (2-6-2, 0-1) in an SCC crossover game on Friday, Oct. 6, at 6 p.m. Pasadena City College (8-0-4, 1-0) handed the Seahawks a 3-2 defeat on Tuesday.
