(Rancho Cucamonga, CA) Facing the top-ranked team in the state, Mt. San Antonio College (20-2-2) came up short against host Chaffey College, 1-0, in the fourth round of the California Community College Athletic Association Southern Region playoffs on Saturday, Nov. 26. The loss ends the Mounties' season and 19-game unbeaten streak.
"[Our players] were right there and I'm proud of them," said Mt. SAC head coach Juan Sanchez. "Credit goes to Chaffey. [Our team] was fearless this year. It was unfortunate to not get the result we wanted. I'm very proud and I know [our players] did their best"
The Panthers (21-0-2) scored the game's only goal in the 43rd minute by beating the Mounties' left defender down the line and scoring on a cross-shot.
Mt. SAC will return to action in late summer 2023 for another exciting season.
