(Walnut, CA) In a battle of South Coast Conference division leaders, host Mt. San Antonio College (12-1, 4-0) won its 10th straight by defeating Long Beach City College (9-2-2, 3-1) on Friday, Oct. 14, by the score of 1-0.

The decisive score came in the eighth minute of the game for the Mounties when Karissa Vela found the back of the net on an assist from Kassandra Enriquez.

Leila Peregrina played all 90 minutes in goal for Mt. SAC, holding the Vikings scoreless with three saves.

The Mounties are ranked No. 2 in the state in the most recent California Community College Sports Information Association poll and will host East Los Angeles College (1-7, 0-3) in an SCC North Division contest on Tuesday, Oct. 18, at 4 p.m.
