(Kansas City, MO) For the first time in Mt. SAC Soccer history, the Women's Soccer Team earned United Soccer Coaches Association (formerly the National Soccer Coaches Association of America (NSCAA)) Team Academic Award Honors.  The award recognizes exemplary performance in the classroom.  Teams qualifying for the honor must possess a combined overall G.P.A. or 3.0 or above.

"As proud as I am of their performance on the field last season, I am even more proud of their performance in the classroom," stated first year women's head coach Juan Sanchez.  "Their devotion to academics will bring them continued success at the 4-year level and in their future lives."

The 2019 team finished with an overall record of 14-7-3.  The team surprised nearly everyone by defeating #1 seed Cypress in the first round of play-offs.  For the first time in over a decade, the Mounties advanced to the second round of play-offs losing, 2-1, in a hard fought heart breaking double overtime match.
