
Lemoore, Calif. – At the highly competitive Lemoore College Invitational, the Mt. SAC Men's Wrestling Team delivered a strong performance, securing second place out of 22 participating schools with a team score of 198.0. Fresno City College, a powerhouse and key rival, claimed first place with 215.5 points, while Cerritos College followed in third with 186 points.
The Mounties led the tournament in overall pins, registering 34 in a combined time of 93 minutes and 57 seconds — the most pins in the least amount of time. They also ranked first in combined pins and technical falls in the least amount of time, totaling 40 in 127:38. Additionally, they placed sixth in tech falls alone with six in 33:41. The team finished second in total match points with 725 and earned the third-best winning percentage in the field, finishing with 77 wins and 42 losses for a .647 mark.
Several individual wrestlers earned top honors in their respective weight classes. Jason Saenz (141 lbs), Michael Williams (149 lbs), and Maxximus Martinez (157 lbs) each claimed first-place finishes. In the 125-pound weight class, Manuel Martir placed 8th, while Rylan (Rocco) Madrid secured 5th place at 133 pounds.Roman Rodriguez (165 lbs) and Wendell Mitchell (174 lbs) each took 6th, with Jacob Longcrier placing 8th at 174. Mitchell Semaan finished 4th at 184 lbs, while Cody South (197 lbs) and Malohi Sipowicz (285 lbs) each placed 8th in their divisions.

The Mounties head to the Santa Ana Tournament on Saturday, October 4. The team looks to carry their momentum forward and continue their strong season.
