(San Luis Obispo, CA) For the second time in school history—and second time in the last three years—Mt. San Antonio College won the state title at the 2023 3C2A Men's Wrestling State Championships held on Friday and Saturday, Dec. 8-9, at Cuesta College. The win completed the Mounties' sweep of the 2023 men's wrestling titles as they also won the state dual championship on Dec. 2.

In this weekend's competition, Mt. SAC scored 181.5 points to claim the top spot as Sacramento City College (163.5 points) and defending state champion Fresno City College (122) finished second and third, respectively.

In total, six Mountie wrestlers finished in the top three of their weight classes, including four first-place finishes.

First-place performances for Mt. SAC came from Chris Calderon (125 lbs.), Zachary Parker (141 lbs.), Alex Ramirez (157 lbs.) and Nathan Cruz (174 lbs.). The other top-three placings for the Mounties included a second-place finish for Adrian Limon (125 lbs.) and a third-place finish for Dib Sawaya (285 lbs.).

This wraps up another exciting season of Mt. SAC Men's Wrestling. Tune in next year to see if the Mounties can duplicate their 2023 success.
