Mt. SAC Wrestling Takes Sixth-Place at State Championships. Finish

(Fresno, CA) Mt. SAC Wrestling tallied 65 points to take sixth at the California Community College Athletic Association (CCCAA) Wrestling State Championships.  At the season concluding event, held on Dec. 13 and 14 at Fresno City College, the Mounties placed six individuals in the top seven, with three earning All-American status.

Setting a new state record of 186 team points, Fresno City College claimed the state team championship for the fourth consecutive year and 18th in school history. Cerritos College (137) and Bakersfield College (77) finished second and third, respectively.

Mt. SAC's Wetzel Hill placed third in the 165-pound division and teammates Bradley Chirino (141 pounds) and Kevin Hope (174 pounds) placed fourth which earned them All-American honors.

Sixth-place finishes by Conner Diamond (125 pounds) and Kevin Ayala (174 pounds) and a seventh-place finish by Melab Ayyoub (184 pounds) rounded out the state placings by Mountie wrestlers.
