Ventura, Calif. – The Mt. SAC Women's Golf Team continued to push through the season with a strong second-place finish at the 3C2A SoCal Regional Finals, held at Olivas Links Golf Course in Ventura. The Mounties posted a two-day team total of 647, finishing just nine strokes shy of conference rival Orange Coast College (638).

College of the Canyons placed third with 676, followed by Santa Barbara City (699) and Allan Hancock (723) to round out the top five. Twelve colleges and 54 individual golfers competed in the two-day showdown.

As she has been doing all season, team captain and Mt. SAC standout, Kaitlyn Wang, turned in another standout performance, finishing second overall with a two-day total of 153 (76–77). Wang was steady from start to finish, carding five birdies across the weekend and showing her trademark composure under pressure.

Right behind her was Kyrie Padero, who found her rhythm in round two — posting an 82 and 77 to secure 8th place overall with a 159 total. Leah Garcia followed with a 166 (84–82), landing in 14th place, while Abigail Price stayed consistent with rounds of 85 and 87 for 18th place.

Lauren Grant-Timassy also made a big day-two comeback, trimming 14 strokes off her first round with an impressive 84, finishing 23rd overall (182).

College of the Canyons' Sahya Kitabatake claimed the individual regional title with a stellar 145 (73–72).

NEXT UP:

After winning the 3C2A State Championship title last season for the first time in 19 years, the Mounties are on their way back to try and defend their title. The contest will take place at Alisal Ranch Golf Course in Solvang November 16-17. Good luck, Mounties!
