Chino, Calif. – The Mt. SAC Women's Golf Team delivered a standout performance on Wednesday, September 3, finishing in second place at their home invitational tournament held at El Prado Golf Course. The Mounties posted an impressive team score of 320, just ten strokes behind tournament winner Orange Coast College, who finished with a 310. College of the Desert and Fullerton College rounded out the field in third and fourth with team scores of 426 and 448, respectively.

Team captain Kaitlyn Wang led the way for Mt. SAC, carding a 76—the second-lowest individual score of the tournament. Teammate Kyrie Padero wasn't far behind, finishing with a 78 for the third-best score of the day. Lauren Grant-Timassy and Abigail Price also made key contributions to the team total, each shooting 83.

Leah Garcia shot a 91, and Evangeline Rodriguez rounded out the lineup with a 95.

The team's performance marked a significant improvement from last week's two-day event, where they posted scores of 356 and 358. The progress was not lost on Head Coach Art Guevara.

"The team played really well yesterday, and the scores reflected that," Guevara said. "They are starting to get into the swing of things and we are looking forward to competing at Cottonwood Golf Club in El Cajon next Wednesday. Our ladies are excited to keep this momentum going."
