(Palm Desert, CA) In the first Orange Empire match of the season, the Mt. SAC Women's Golf team placed second with a two-day team score of 667 (Day-1 337, Day-2 330) at The Lakes Country Club on Sunday and Monday (August 27-28).

Finishing first at the Desert Invitational was Modest College with a two-day team score of 663.  Reddley, Sierra, and Fullerton College finished third through fifth.

Leading the way for the Mounties was freshman Alana Lo with a fifth-place tie of 162 (R1 80, R2 82) followed closely by teammate Kylie Lau (163).

Rounding out the Mountie scores were Natalie Neal (168), and Kayla Loera (174).

OEC Match No. 2 will be held on Wednesday (Sept. 6) at Sobba Springs Country Club. The event is hosted by Mt. San Jacinto College.
