Mt. SAC Women’s Golf Places Second in OEC Neutral Match

(Chino Hills, CA) With its fourth, second-place finish of the season, the Mt. SAC Women's Golf Team recaptured second place in Orange Empire Conference (OEC) play on Wednesday (Oct. 2), at the OEC Neutral match held at Los Serranos Country Club.

College of the Desert (338) finished first and remained undefeated in conference with a perfect, 49-0, record. Mt. SAC (39-10) is currently in second with Saddleback (38-11), a win back, is in third.

The Mounties finished eight strokes behind with a score of 346, followed by Saddleback in third, a stroke back, at 347.

Leading the way for the Mounties was Precious Saelee who shot 78 (36-42) and finished individually in second place for fourth time, in conference match play, this season. Saelee remains atop the conference individual leaderboard with a 76.0 average. She is followed closely behind by Saddleback's Katie Stribling (76.5), who finished third, shooting a 79 (40-39), at the par-74 Los Serranos CC.

Finishing as low medalist of the match was Lilyanna Rodriguez (75 (36-39)) from College of te Desert, who holds a 78.2 average in the conference individual standings and is currently sitting in third.

Other Mt. SAC scores: Cristina Liu, 86 (40-46), Katherine Chan, 89 (41-48), Kima Blake, 93 (43-50), Lisa Romero, 94 (48-46) and Malaysia Thompson, 109 (51-58).

Mt. SAC continues conference play with Match No. 8 on Monday (Oct. 7), at Singing Hills Golf Resort at Sycuan, in El Cajon. The event is hosted by Cuyamaca College.
