(Tustin, CA) For the third time this season the Mt. SAC Women's Golf Team finished in second in an Orange Empire Conference match.

The latest was at the OEC Match No. 5 at the Tustin Ranch Golf Club on Wednesday October 17, hosted by Irvine Valley College.

The Mounties were a distant second behind conference champion Saddleback (346), who has a 19-1 record with one match to go. Mt. SAC (384) and Fullerton (408) are locked up in a tie for second in conference with identical 13-7 records.

The final conference match before the conference tournament is Monday October 22 at Industry Hills Golf Course. The match, which will be hosted by Mt. SAC, will be held on the Babe Zaharias course, which is a par-71.

In the match on Wednesday at the Tustin Club, only four of the 20 golfers shot under a 90 on the difficult course.

"The course was long and extremely difficult," Mt. SAC Women's Golf coach Greg Osbourne said. "They played hard and I'm very proud of our team."

MacKenzie Kelly and Cristina Liu shot 92's and Brianna Rojo carded a 95 for the Mounties. Other Mt. SAC scores: Yen Hsu, 105; Julyssa Mendiola, 105; Andrea Villarino-Uribe, 122.

The tee-off time at the final match of the season at Industry Hills will begin at 11:00 am.
