(Costa Mesa, CA) The Mt. SAC Women's Golf Team kept pace with Orange Empire Conference leader Saddleback College, finishing second at the Orange Empire Conference (OEC) Match #2 held at the Costa Mesa Country Club on Wednesday (SEP 19).

Five golfers among the five teams shot in the 70's, with Mt. SAC's Mackenzie Kelly carding a 78. Kelly shaved off seven strokes from her first match, moving up to fifth overall in the individual OEC standings.

As a team, the Mounties finished in a tie with Fullerton College with a score of 354, but by virtue of the tie-breaker rule (must have five golfers), the Mounties received second.

The other three Mounties scoring points were Cristina Liu (89), Brianna Rojo (92) and Julyssa Mendiola (95).

After two matches the Mounties remain in second with a 6-2 record behind leader Saddleback which has is perfect at 8-0.

Individually, Irvine Valley's Katie Stribling remains well in front of the pact with a 71 stroke average.

Mt. SAC will next compete at the North/South Invitational, held at the Morro Bay Golf Course, on Sunday and Monday, September 23rd and 24th.
