(Yorba Linda, CA) Led by an 82 from freshman golfer Mackenzie Kelly, the Mt. SAC Women's Golf team placed second in the Orange Empire Conference Match #4 on Wednesday October 11 at Black Gold Golf Course in Yorba Linda.

Mt. SAC, which hosted the match, improved on its finish in the first three matches as they finished third all three times.

The Mounties, which totaled 348 on the day with a 3-1 record, still remain in third place in the conference with an overall 9-7 record, but are only one win shy of second-place Irvine Valley with a 10-5 record with two matches remaining. Saddleback remains in first place with a 15-1 record.

"They played real smart on a difficult course," said Mt. SAC Women's Golf coach Greg Osbourne, who is a PGA member. "We still have some techniques to work on, but we are improving as a team."

Kelly, who carded her best score of 82 in four matches, is averaging 82.8 this season.

Freshman Alex Le Mons finished eighth overall with an 88, followed closely by teammates Ryanne Broughton and Brianna Pulido with identical 89's.

The Mounties will continue conference play next Wednesday October 25 at Arroyo Trabuco Golf Club in Mission Viejo hosted by Saddleback College.
