Mt. SAC Women’s Basketball moves closer to an SCC title with a 72-47 win over PCC

(Walnut, CA) A big win over Pasadena City College, 72-47 on Wednesday (February 8) set up a South Coast Conference championship showdown this Friday (Feb. 10) at Rio Hondo.

With the win, the Mounties improved to 19-7 overall and a perfect 6-0 in the conference. Rio Hondo is 4-1 in conference play with three games remaining.

With a win over Rio Hondo, the Mounties can clinch the outright title, which would be their 20th overall.

A big first half led the Mounties, CCCWBCA No. 4-ranked team in the South and CCCSIA No.10 team in the state, to a 42-18 lead at the break and they cruised from there to a 25-point victory.

Mt. SAC sophomore guard Briana Lizardi had her biggest game of the season and second highest in her Mountie career with 21 points.

Sophomore guard Elle Yick also had her season high with 15 points, which included 5 for 8 shooting from beyond the arc.

Endigo Parker had nine points and Kameria Piggee and Dailani Richardson scored eight points each for the Mounties.
