
(Victorville, CA) The Mt. SAC Women's Basketball team won its 11th consecutive game and 13th out of the last 15 games with a 63-60 non-conference victory (Friday, January 28) over host Victor Valley College.
The non-conference game was a make-up from late December.
The CCCWBCA South Region No. 2-ranked Mounties, which improved to 18-3 overall, will continue South Coast Conference action Wednesday (Feb. 2) at No. 5 East Los Angeles College.
In the win over Victory Valley (14-5), the Mounties had four players in double figures, led by sophomore guard Ellyah Cartajena (3-3 FTM-A, 10 RB, 5 Stls.).
The other three in double figures were: Kamesha Moore (2-2 FTM-A, 7 Assts., 2 Stls.), 12 points, and Mina Guevara-Goss (4-7 FGM-A, 2-5 3PM-A, 4 A, 3 Stls.) and Briana Lizardi (5-6 FGM-A, 1-1 FTM-A, 4 RB, 1 Stl.) with 11 points each.
Skylarr Little (4-7 FGM-A, 1 Stl., 2 Blks.) had a game-high and season-high 13 rebounds.
Victor Valley was led by a game-high 23 points from Jordan Brooks.
With Victor Valley leading, 17-13, after the first period, Mt. SAC had a game-high 23 points in the second quarter and led, 36-27 at the break.
The Mounties were outscored, 33-27 in the final two periods, but held on for the three-point win.
