(Walnut, CA) The 2024 Mounties Women's Softball Team (32-8) captured its seventh consecutive conference championship and placed six players on the All-South Coast Conference (SCC) Team. Head Coach Ruby Rojas (373-76; .831 win %), was honored by SCC coaches in receiving the South Coast Coach of the Year, this marks her sixth time earning this honor.
All-SCC First Team selections were freshman catcher Morgan Kneubuhler, who led SCC players in homers with nine to go with a .475 average and 47 RBI.
Sophomore third baseman, Janis Espinoza batted .460 with 5 HR, 27 RBI, and 25 stolen bases. Espinoza was in the top 5 in multiple categories including second in runs scored in the conference.
Sophomore Pitcher/Right Fielder, Alyssa Rubalcava, batted .438, with 3 HR, and 34 RBI. She appeared in 10 conference games (6-1) and had a 3.32 ERA.
Sophomore Shortstop Katie Griego, (.388, 4 HR, 26 RBI), Sophomore Pitcher Aleyna Urbina (11-6, 120 IP, led SCC 1.40 ERA), and Freshman First Baseman Mercedes Alba (.375, 6 HR, 36 RBI) were named to the 2nd Team All SCC.
