ALL-SCC 2023--ESPINOZA SHARES CONFERENCE MVP HONORS; MOUNTIES' URBINA PITCHER OF YEAR

Mt. SAC freshman third baseman and shortstop, Janis Espinoza was named one of the South Coast Conference Co-Players of the Year. She led the conference in on-base percentage and runs scored. The other co-player of the year was Jaimie Harris, a sophomore third baseman from Pasadena City College.

Throughout the season, Espinoza maintained an impressive batting average of .458 and a .530 on-base percentage. She also had 43 runs and 23 stolen bases. Harris had a batting average of .408 with 27 extra-base hits, a conference-leading .800 slugging percentage, and a .455 OBP.

In addition, Mt. SAC's Aleyna Urbina, the team's ace, was chosen as Pitcher of the Year. Urbina finished the season with a remarkable 17-2 record and a 1.10 ERA.

Mt. SAC had the highest number of players selected for the 25-player First and Second Teams, with five players (1st Team - Mia Mendoza, So. OF, .383, 11 doubles, 4 HR, 41 RBI; Ashley Diaz, So. OF, .407, 11 doubles, 1 HR, 20 RBI; 2nd Team - Katelyn Olson, So. SS, .317, 1 HR, 9 RBI, Led SCC 23 SB; Honorable Mentions; Mirannda Rodriguez, Fr; Asia Chacon, So) in total.
