(Walnut, CA) Freshman first base woman Brianna Goris (Corona H.S./Corona, CA) makes it a clean sweep after being named California JC Player of the Year by the National Fastpitch Coaches Association (NFCA). Goris was also named California Community College Fastpitch Coaches Association Player of the Year, South Coast Conference Player of the Year and with honor, has now captured every player of the year honor possible.

"She is an extremely phenomenal and humble person," states Mounties Head Coach Ruby Rojas.  "As a bounce back from James Madison University, she has blossomed incredibly in every aspect as a player."

This season, Goris led the Mounties to a South Coast Conference Championship and a berth into this weekend's state championships in Bakersfield.  In 41 games and 115 at bats this season, she batted .565 with 15 homeruns, 65 hits, 22 doubles and 2 triples.  With an on base percentage of .651 and a slugging percentage of 1.183, Goris was a thorn to the pitchers she faced and was often walked.

Along with Goris, sophomore pitcher Grace Pieson was named to the California Community College Fastpitch Coaches Association (CCCFCA) All-State First Team.  Sophomore shortstop Ariana Coronado was named to the CCCFCA All-Southern California Team.

Next up for the Mounties is the California Community College Athletic Association Softball State Championships in Bakersfield.  The Mounties (41-4), the South #1 seed, will begin their quest for their seventh (7th) state championship on Thursday, May 19th at 5:00 pm and will face the North #4 seed, San Jose City College (36-5).
