(Walnut, CA) The Mt. SAC Softball team celebrated sophomore day, honoring 16 players, and finished the regular season with a 3-0 conference win over visiting Pasadena City College on Tuesday (April 26).

After Mt. SAC clinched its sixth consecutive conference title last week, the Mounties finished the regular season with their 14th shutout.

With the win, the Mounties improve to 37-3 and 19-2.

Next up are the playoffs which begin next week. Check the CCCAA website for the announcement of the playoff brackets.

Leading the way was sophomore outfielder Emily Barba (2 for 3, 2 RBIs) with a two-run double giving the Mounties a 3-0 lead in the sixth inning, scoring catcher Mireya Amezcua (1 for 1, R) and second baseman Asia Chacon (1 for 1, R).

Left fielder Mikenna Barcelona opened the scoring in the first inning with a run-scoring single, driving in right fielder Haley Moran for the 1-0 lead.

Gillian Molina pitched the middle three innings and picked up her fourth win without a loss.
