Mt. SAC Softball suffers 3-2 SCC loss to host El Camino College

(Torrance, CA) For only the third time this season, the Mt. SAC Softball team suffered a loss, as the Mounties fell to host El Camino College, 3-2, in a South Coast Conference game, on Thursday (March 17).

The Warriors, who are in fourth place in the SCC, scored two runs in the first inning and held on for the one-run victory.

Trailing, 2-0, the Mounties scored a solo run in the second on a single by second baseman Asia Chacon (2-3, RBI), scoring pinch-runner Rylee Mirano, to trail, 2-1.

In the next inning, designated player Brianna Goris (1-4, RBI) hit a triple to right field, scoring center fielder Mikenna Barcelona (1-3, R) tying the game 2-2.

The Warriors scored the go-ahead run in the fourth inning and made it stand up for the win.

Pitcher Grace Pieson suffered only her third loss of the season, going four innings and striking out five batters.
