(Pasadena, CA) The Mt. SAC Softball Team is a ways away from equaling its season-opening winning streak of 20 games in 2017, but continued its run-scoring onslaught with an 11-0 five-inning win over host Pasadena City College Tuesday afternoon.

With the win, the Mounties improved to 10-0 overall and 4-0 in the South Coast Conference.

Leading the way for the Mounties was right fielder Megan Jones (3 for 3, 3 Runs, RBI, 2B, 3B) with three hits.

Three Mounties connected for two-run, home runs - Alyssa Martinez (1-3, R, 2 RBIs), Quinn De Avila (2-2, R, 3 RBIs) and Emily Goldstein (1-2, R, 2 RBIs).

The double-figure scoring was the sixth time this season for the Mounties.

Freshman pitcher Serena Navarrete picked up her first win of her college career, allowing only a single hit and striking out three Lancer batters in three innings of action. Emily Sevilla finished up the final two innings, not allowing a hit and striking out one batter.

The Mounties scored in all five innings, with seven runs in the final three.

"Each player focuses on executing their job," De Avila said. "Our team pays close attention to the little details in practice that eventually translates into the game."

Mt. SAC returns home Thursday (Feb.20) for a SCC game against Cerritos College. Game time is 3:00 pm.
