(Pasadena, CA) Mt. SAC (24-4, 15-0) put its 20-game South Coast Conference win streak (which dates back to the 2018 season) on the line Tuesday and came away with a 7-1 win over host Pasadena City College (18-10, 10-6).

The Mounties struck first with two runs in the top of the third, then tacked on another run in the fifth and two each in the sixth and seventh innings to capture the victory.

Quinn De Avila (2-for-2, RBI, R), Ally Longtree (2-for-4, 2 RBI, R, HR), Ciara Granado (2-for-4, RBI, 2B), Jessika Trujillo (2-for-4), Candace Haliburton (1-for-4, 2 RBI, 2B), Vicky Gutierrez (1-for-4, R, 2B), and Adriana Ramirez (1-for-4, RBI, 2B) led Mt. SAC's offensive attack.

Briana Wheeler (15-1) pitched a complete game, striking out seven, to earn the win for the Mounties.

Tuesday's win is Mt. SAC's second in a row following Saturday's 4-2 non-conference loss to Cypress. The Mounties bounced back from that loss on Monday with a 6-0 non-conference win over Orange Coast.

Mt. SAC will host Chaffey (15-12, 8-6) in an SCC matchup on Thursday, April 4, at 3 p.m. The Mounties defeated the Panthers 11-2 on March 5. Chaffey was the last team to defeat Mt. SAC in SCC play, handing the eventual 2018 state champs a 4-1 setback on April 5, 2018.
