(Torrance, CA) Trailing 2-1 with two outs in the top of the sixth, Mt. SAC (15-2, 9-0) scored twice to take the lead then held on for the 3-2 South Coast Conference win over El Camino (11-5, 9-2) on Thursday.

The Mounties started the sixth with a double by Vicky Gutierrez (2-for-3, RBI, 2 2B). Two outs later, Charleen Macias walked and Adriana Ramirez (1-for-3, 2 RBI) doubled scoring pinch runner Erika Eklund and Macias for the decisive runs.

Gutierrez also doubled in the top of the first, driving home Candace Haliburton (1-for-4, R) for the Mounties' first run. Ally Longtree (1-for-4) also doubled for Mt. SAC.

Briana Wheeler (10-0) pitched a complete game, struck out eight, allowed no earned runs, and picked up the win for the Mounties.

Mt. SAC has won two straight and will host Compton (4-12-1, 1-8) in an SCC makeup game on Friday, March 15, at 1 p.m.
