
(Bakersfield, CA) The Kern County Soccer Park was the site of the 2022 Southern California Cross Country Championship Meet on Friday, Nov. 4, where Mt. San Antonio College finished in second place with 74 points. San Diego Mesa College took the top spot with 31 points and Riverside City College came in third with 82.
The Mounties' Jesus Alvarado finished in first in the field of 190 runners, turning in a time of 19:28.23 on the four-mile course, 22.02 seconds ahead of the second-place finisher. Jalen Griego (20:12.89, 12th place), Jonathan Pfeiffer (20:14.78, 13th), Austin Ledgerwood (20:26.29, 21st), and Elijah Ocegueda (20:34.01, 27th) turned in top-30 times for Mt. SAC.

The Mounties will conclude their 2022 season on Saturday, Nov.19, at the California Community College Athletic Association State Championships at Woodward Park in Fresno.
