(Whittier, CA) Three players poured in four goals apiece to lead the Mt. SAC Men's Water Polo Team to a 24-10 win in South Coast Conference action Wednesday afternoon (Oct. 9).

Brandon Shew (2 Steals, 2 Assists), Kyle Green and Ian Tauer (3 Stls., 5 A) led the Mounties with the four goals to lead the Mounties to a convincing win.

Mt. SAC improves to 10-3 overall and 2-0 in the SCC.

Brandon Knapp (1 Stl., 3 A) added three goals for the Mounties.

Leading the Roadrunners with a game-high six goals was Travis Wisher.

After a close first period with the Mounties holding a slim 4-3 lead, attacker Justin Wakefield (5 Stls.) scored two of the four Mountie goals in the second period and goalie Andres Mercado held Rio Hondo scoreless for an 8-3 halftime lead.

The game was put out of reach as Mt. SAC scored five of the first six goals in the third period for a commanding, 13-4 lead.

The Mounties continued their offensive onslaught with a nine-point fourth period and finished with their sixth 20-plus, goal game.

After a week off, the Mounties host the Long Beach City College Vikings Wednesday (Oct. 16) in a SCC game then travel North to play in the Cuesta College Tournament, Friday and Saturday (Oct. 18-19).
