(Walnut, CA) The Mt. SAC Men's Tennis team is literally on a big roll, as they won their third consecutive match, which includes a dominating, 8-1, win over Mt. San Jacinto College on Thursday (March 9) in the Inland Empire Athletic Conference.

In their three consecutive team wins, the Mounties have won 24 individual matches and dropped only three.

With the three wins, the Mounties evened their overall standing to 4-4 overall and are in third place in the conference with a 4-1 record.

A big IEAC match looms next Tuesday (weather permitting) at home against San Diego City College. The Knights defeated Mt. SAC, 5-4, in the last match of the day for one of their two conference losses this season.

"Overall, some fine performances, since we were playing three matches in four days," Mt. SAC Men's Tennis coach Lee Shiomoto said. "Mt. SAC's No. 2 single, freshman Kaden Salvador, outplayed MSJC's No. 2, beating him 6-0, 6-0.

"Kaden also teamed up with Mt. SAC's No. 1 player, sophomore Lucas Van Zee, at the No. 1 doubles position, winning 8-2."

The Mounties easily won all three doubles matches – No. 1 Lucas Van Zee/Salvador (8-2), No. 2 Ahren Van Zee/Tyler Perez (8-3) and No. 3 Jayden Aggers/Justin Luu (8-4).

In singles competition, the only match that went to a tiebreak was No. 1 Lucas Van Zee, falling, 3-6, 6-2, 8-10.

No. 3 through No. 6 all won in straight sets – No. 3 Ahren Van Zee (6-0, 6-0), No. 4 Perez (6-2, 6-2), No. 5 Aggers (6-1, ret.) and No. 6 Luu (6-3, 6-2).
