(San Jacinto, CA) At the Inland Empire Athletic Conference Tournament held at Mt. San Jacinto College on March 29-31, the Mt. San Antonio College Men's Tennis Team struggled but turned in a couple of winning performances, nonetheless.

In the first round of singles play, the Mounties' Lucas Van Zee defeated El Camino College's Aaron Smith, 8-1, but was defeated by College of the Desert's Marco Alvarez, 0-6, 2-6, in the second round. Van Zee got to play another match as an at-large participant but came up short against San Diego City College's Carlos Robles, 0-6, 2-6.

In doubles play, Mt. SAC's team of Van Zee/Nick Muranaka defeated Victor Valley College's team of Michael Flores/Roberto Ibarra, 8-3. Following a 3-8 second-round loss to College of the Desert's team of Mario Alvarez/Raymundo Chavez, Van Zee/Muranaka fell in the at-large round to San Diego City College's team of Brian Espinoza/Sebastian Castaneda, 4-8.

Next up for the Mounties is an IEAC final dual team match on Tuesday, April 5.
