Mt. SAC Men's Swimming and Diving dominates Riverside Invitational

(Riverside, CA) In a field of eight schools and 93 competitors, the Mt. San Antonio College Men's Swimming and Diving team tallied 825 points to finish in first place at the Riverside City College Invitational on Friday, April 7. Riverside came in second with 523 points and Palomar College took third with 454 points.

On the day, Mountie athletes finished first in 13 events, second in four, and third in three.

First-place finishes for Mt. SAC included Eric Yeh (50 free, 200 IM), Markus Stegbuchner (100 & 200 breaststrokes), Isaiah Huerta (100 free, 500 free), Jason Matsuda (400 IM, 200 fly), Matthew Neoh (100 back, 200 back), Samuel Slezak (1650 free), the 200 medley relay team, and the 400 free relay team.

Huerta (200 free), Neoh (100 fly), Slezak (500 free), and Spencer Sorosky (400 IM) turned in second-place performances for the Mounties..

Third-place finishes for Mt. SAC came from Kevin Poma (100 fly), Jude Solis (200 breaststrokes), and Alex Chavez (200 fly).

The Mounties will next compete in the South Coast Conference and SoCal Diving Championships at El Camino College on Friday, April 14, and the SCC Swimming Championships at East Los Angeles College on Thursday through Saturday, April 20-22.
