
(Walnut, CA) In the second round of the South Coast Conference Tournament on Tuesday, Nov. 7, host and No. 2 seed Mt. San Antonio College and No. 5 Long Beach City College (11-5-4, 5-3-2) played to a 0-0 draw. However, the Mounties (7-4-9, 5-1-3) advanced on penalty kicks, 5-4, to earn a spot in the championship game. This is the second time this season that the teams battled to a tie, the first was a 3-3 deadlock on Oct. 13.
In Tuesday's game, Daniel Ramirez played all 90 minutes in goal for Mt. SAC and made four saves.
The Mounties will face No. 1 seed El Camino College (18-1, 9-0) for the tournament title on Friday, Nov. 10, at LBCC. The Warriors defeated Mt. SAC, 3-0, on Oct. 3.
El Camino is ranked No. 2 in the most recent California Community College Sports Information Association state poll and the Mounties are ranked No. 19.
