(Long Beach, CA) For the first time in seven years, the Mt. SAC Men's Soccer team has lost two consecutive games, with the last pair of setbacks occurring in the 2015 season.

The Mounties (10-4, 2-2), fell to host Long Beach City College, 3-2, on Friday (Oct. 14).

Leading the way for the Mounties was sophomore midfielder Alex Mendez with two goals.

The Mounties took a quick 1-0 lead with an unassisted goal in the first minute on Mendez's first of two goals.

LBCC tied the game at 1-1 in the 14th minute, but the Mounties quickly retook the lead, their last of the game, again on another unassisted goal by Mendez for the 2-1 lead.

The second half was all Long Beach City in the scoring column, with goals in the 57th and 65th minute for the 3-2 final.

The Mounties will host East Los Angeles this coming Tuesday, October 18. The game time is 6 p.m.
