(Walnut, CA) In a non-conference matchup, host Mt. San Antonio College (6-2) defeated College of the Desert (3-3-4) by the score of 3-2 on Friday, Sept. 23.

The Mounties got on the board early when Edward Castro scored in the 9th minute on an assist from Jacob Cervantes to take a 1-0 lead. An unassisted goal by Andrew Vazquez extended the hosts' lead to 2-0 in the 30th minute.

The Roadrunners cut the lead to 2-1 in the 52nd minute, only to see Mt. SAC score again in the 75th minute on a goal by Felipe Cobian (Emiliano Gutierrez assist) to go up 3-1. A late score in the 90th minute pulled Desert to within one, 3-2, but that was how the game ended.

Daniel Ramirez played all 90 minutes in goal for the Mounties, making three saves.

Mt. SAC returns to action on Tuesday, Sept. 27, at home in a non-conference game against undefeated Oxnard College (5-0-1) at 7 p.m.
