Mounties Men's Soccer tops San Bernardino Valley

(San Bernardino, CA) After a scoreless first half, Mt. San Antonio College (5-2) scored three goals in the second to post a 3-1 non-conference victory over host San Bernardino Valley College (3-4-1) on Tuesday, Sept. 21.

At the 57:09 mark, Edward Castro found the back of the net for the Mounties on an assist from Alex Mendez. Mendez accounted for the next goal at the 60:28 mark on an assist from Damian Esparza. The Wolverines cut the lead to 2-1 at the 80:44 mark, but Mt. SAC scored again at the 83:50 mark when Ivan Morales scored an unassisted goal.

Jacob Cardenas played all 90 minutes in goal for the Mounties, making three saves while allowing one goal.

Mt. SAC returns home for a non-conference game against College of the Desert (3-2-4) on Friday, Sept. 23, at 7:30 p.m.
