(Walnut, CA) Mt. San Antonio College (3-1) captured a 2-1 win over Santa Ana College (1-2-1) to close out the 2022 Mt. SAC/Nike Azteca Tournament on Sunday, September 4^th, at Mt. SAC. The Mounties opened the tournament with a 3-1 victory over Lake Tahoe College on Friday, September 2^nd.

In Sunday's match, Andrew Vazquez broke a 1-1 tie with what proved to be the decisive score early in the second half (47th minute) on an assist from Alex Mendez. Mendez scored the game's first goal in the 21st minute on an assist from Everardo Escobar.

In 90 minutes, Mountie goalkeeper Daniel Ramirez allowed one score while making three saves.

Mt. SAC will travel to Kansas City, Missouri, to face Richland (Texas) College (3-0-1) on Friday, September 9, at 10 a.m. Pacific Time.
