No. 3 Mounties shut out Long Beach in SCC game, unbeaten streak now at 10

(Long Beach, CA) No. 3-ranked Mt. SAC (11-1-1, 5-0-1) battled to a 4-0 South Coast Conference victory over host Long Beach City College (6-2-6, 3-1-2) on Friday.

The Mounties' offense included goals from Giovanni Gloria (unassisted at 34:44), Edward Castro (Christian Barboza assist at 54:09), Eddie Cabrera (unassisted at 83:39), and Andrew Vazquez (unassisted at 88:57).

Goalkeeper Jacob Cardenas (90 minutes) made four saves for Mt. SAC.

Riding a 10-game unbeaten streak, the Mounties sit atop the SCC North standings, 1.5 games ahead of Rio Hondo (9-2-4, 3-1-2).

Next up is an SCC home game on Tuesday, Oct. 26, against Cerritos (12-2-1, 6-0), which leads the SCC South division and is ranked No. 9 in the state. Game time is set for 5 p.m.
