(Walnut, CA) An unassisted goal by Herminio Padilla in the 62nd minute broke a 1-1 tie and gave the Mt. SAC Men's Soccer Team a 2-1 win over College of the Canyons (0-1) on Friday night. The win comes in the opening round of the 2019 Mt. SAC Azteca Soccer/Adidas Tournament.

Trailing 1-0 at the break, Guilherme Farias put the Mounties (4-0) on the board in the 54th minute on an assist from Gerardo Cazares.

Alain Hernandez played 90 minutes in goal for Mt. SAC, allowing just one score.

In the other opening-round match of the tournament, Fullerton (2-1-1) captured a 2-1 win over College of the Desert (2-2) to earn a spot in the championship match against the Mounties on Sunday, Sept. 8, at Mt. SAC. Game time is scheduled for 10 a.m.
