(Walnut, CA) The 2019 Mt. SAC Men's Soccer campaign got underway on Wednesday with a 1-0, non-conference, win over visiting Mira Costa College (0-1).
The match's only goal came at the 44-minute mark of the first half when Ivan Escobar found the net for the Mounties (1-0), on an assist from Jacob Sowder.
Goalkeeper John Samano had two saves, on two shots on goal, in 90 minutes for Mt. SAC.
Next up for the Mounties is a long road trip up north to face West Valley College (Saratoga, CA) on Saturday, Aug. 31, at 12 p.m. After the match, the team will remain in Northern California and travel to Sacramento for a match against American River College on Monday, Sept. 2, at 12 p.m.
