Mt. SAC Men's Soccer

(Compton, CA) The Mt. SAC Men's Soccer Team recorded its fourth consecutive shutout with a 1-0 win at Compton College in a South Coast Conference crossover game.

It was the seventh shutout of the season for the Mounties, who improved to 13-3-2 and are ranked 10th in the state in the latest CCCSIA poll (Oct. 23). They have now won nine of their last 11 games, which included a tie.

With less than two minutes left in regulation, Mt. SAC forward Marty Raygoza gave the Mounties a 1-0 lead that would prove to be the game winner.

Raygoza, who recorded his fifth goal of the season, got a breakaway near midfield and with no defenders between him and the goal, scored for the Mounties.

Mt. SAC took 20 shots in the game, while goalie Alain Hernandez recorded his third shutout of the season.

The Mounties continue South Coast Conference action with games on Tuesday October 30 at Rio Hondo and Friday November 2 at Pasadena City College.
