Mt. SAC Men’s Golf finishes fourth at OEC Match No. 7

(Costa Mesa, CA) For the first time this season, the Mt. SAC Men's Golf team finished out of the top three in the seven-team conference, with a fourth-place in the Orange Empire Conference Match No. 7 Wednesday (May 12).

The Par-72 Arroyo Trabuco Golf Course, hosted by Saddleback College, was the site for the seventh match of the season and only one golfer shot under par for the day.

Cathan Peterson-Cheek of Saddleback was the low medalist with a four-under-par 68. 

Orange Coast College finished first with a team score of 378, followed by Cypress (383), Saddleback (386) and Mt. SAC (393).

The Mounties still hold the lead in the OEC standings at 35-7, while Saddleback is six back with a 29-13 record.

Only three Mounties shot in the 70's Wednesday, with Ben Sanders carding a 2-over (74), followed by Bryan Saw (77) and Amaan Patel (78). Shooting in the 80's was Brandon Winters (81), Mark McCabe (83) and Aiden Taylor (85).

Next up for Mt. SAC is the OEC Neutral site event at Canyon Crest CC in Riverside Monday (May 17).
