Mt. SAC Men’s Golf finishes first at OEC Match No. 3

Mt. SAC Men's Golf Team at Soboba Springs Country Club

(Riverside, CA) For the second week in a row, the Mt. SAC Men's Golf team remains the hottest team in the Orange Empire Conference, with another first place in Match No. 2 at Victoria Country Club in Riverside Monday (April 26).

After three of seven OEC matches, the Mounties (17-1) sit atop the standings with only one loss in match play. Saddleback and Riverside City College are tied for third with 12-6 records.

Leading the Mounties was Bryan Saw with a 74, which was second-best on the day out of 36 golfers.

All five Mounties, for the second week in a row, shot in the 70's and finished in the top 12 for the day.

The low medalist on the par-72 course was Jordan Medlock of host Riverside City College with a one-over-par 73.

After Saw, the next five Mountie finishers were: Amaan Patel (75), Felix Tsui (75), Kataro Noda (76), Brandon Winters (77), and Ben Sanders (78).

Patel remains at the top of the leader board after three events with a 72.3 average.

"This is a very strong group mentally, even though we couldn't take a practice round," Mt. SAC Men's Golf Coach Greg Osbourne said. "Everyone has broken 80 in every tournament so far.

"The course was playing tough with the wind. I am so proud of my team."

The Mounties continue OEC action Monday (May 5) at Soboba Springs Country Club in San Jacinto.
