(Torrance, CA) In a South Coast Conference crossover game on Wednesday, Jan. 17, Mt. San Antonio College (16-1) took the lead early and never relinquished it en route to an 81-68 win over host El Camino College (6-11). The victory is the Mounties' ninth straight.

Nick Hopkins led Mt. SAC with 23 points while leading all players with 11 rebounds, five assists and four steals. Jerimiyah Smith added 15 points off the bench and Mikah Gardner contributed 12 to round out the Mounties' double-digit scorers.

Bench scoring was a big factor in the win for Mt. SAC as the team outscored the Warriors' bench, 30-5.

The Mounties will conclude their SCC crossover schedule at home against Los Angeles Southwest College (11-6) on Friday, Jan. 19, at 5 p.m. Both teams are ranked in the current California Community College Men's Basketball Coaches Association state poll—Mt. SAC at No. 5 and LASW at No. 26.
