LBCC edges Mt. SAC Men’s Basketball, 70-65 in conference match-up

(Walnut, CA) In an evenly played game, Long Beach City College went on a 10-5 run in the last two minutes to pull away and defeat the Mt. SAC Men's Basketball team, 70-65 on Wednesday (December 14).

With the score tied, 60-60, and 2:19 to play, the Vikings started their closing run with a 3-pointer and never looked back for the win.

The Mounties, who lost their fourth game in the last five outings, fell below the .500 mark with a 5-6 record.

Leading the way for Mt. SAC was freshman guard Nick Hopkins (7-12 FGM-A, 6-10 FTM-A, 11 RB, 1 Stl., 1 Blk) with 20 points, while two other players also scored in double figures – Mikah Gardner (4-8 3PM-A, 9 RB, 3 Asst., 1 Stl., 1 Blk.) with 18 and Jay Milner (4-4 FTM-A, 5 RB, 4 A, 1Stl.) with 13.

Micah Myricks and Matthew Brown added six points each for the Mounties.

Mt. SAC will travel to Riverside City College this Saturday (Dec. 17) for a non-conference game.
