(Orange, CA) Host Santiago Canyon (5-1) handed Mt. SAC (5-2) an 89-71 non-conference setback on Wednesday, snapping Mountie's five-game winning streak.

Shaquil Bender, Jamal Edmonson, Dyren Brown, Khalid Wilkins scored 11 points each in the losing effort. Dyren Brown also grabbed a game-high 10 rebounds.

In spite of the loss, the Mounties outplayed the Hawks in points in the paint (36-34) and bench scoring (28-27). Santiago Canyon's Preston Sims led all players with 22 points.

Mt. SAC returns to action on Wednesday, Dec. 1, at 5 p.m. at Southwestern College (2-5).
