Men's Basketball Captures 2015-16 South Coast Conference Championship

(Norwalk, CA)  The Mountie Men captured their second South Coast Conference Championship in the past four seasons under Head Coach Clark Maloney, who returned back to Mt. SAC 4 years ago.  The Mounties were 7-1 in conference and finished the regular season with a record of 16-10.

Sophomore Guard, Lamarquis Thompson (Manor H.S., Houston, TX) was named the SCC Player of the Year.  Thompson averaged 15.5 points per game and 7.6 rebounds per game during the season.  Head Coach Clark Maloney captured his second SCC Coach of the Year.

Three other Mounties were honored on the All-SCC Team they include:

All-SCC North Division Team

  • Sam Bide – Sophomore Guard (Freedom H.S., Oakland, CA)
  • Charlie Evans IV – Sophomore Guard (St. John Bosco, Covina, CA)

All-SCC North Division Honorable Mention

  • Jamaal Logan – Freshman Guard (Colony H.S., Ontario, CA)
The Mounties have received the #14 seed in the California Community College Athletic Association Southern California Regional Play-Offs.  Mt. SAC will begin the play-offs at home and will host #19 seed Grossmont College, Wednesday night, February 24th, 2016 at 7:00 pm.

 

Tickets may purchased at the gate and are $12 for adults (55 years of age and under) and $8 for Children (6-12 years of age), Students W/ID, Seniors (55+ years of age or better) and Facult/Staff W/ID.  Parking is $4.
