Mt. SAC Cheer Team Claims Advanced Division National Championship

Anaheim, Calif. – The Mt. SAC Cheer Team brought home another national championship, capturing first place in the 2-Year Small Coed Advanced Division at the USA Collegiate Nationals held February 21-22 in Anaheim, Calif.

Competing against Utah State University Eastern, College of the Sequoias, and Connors State College, the Mounties delivered two strong performances to secure the title. Choreographed by Mandy Morgan and DJ Fleming, the routine showcased the team's talent, energy, and growth throughout the season.

Mt. SAC entered Day 1 confidently and focused, earning a score of 89.8 to finish in first place and advance to finals. After making minor adjustments heading into Day 2, the Mounties once again scored an 89.8. The consistency proved crucial, as their score was enough to hold off the competition and clinch the championship.

The victory marks another milestone in an impressive multi-year run for the program. Mt. SAC won the Advanced Division title in 2023, claimed the Intermediate Division championship in 2024, returned to the Advanced Division for a second-place finish in 2025, and now stands once again atop the Advanced Division in 2026.

This year's title is particularly meaningful for a team featuring 20 freshmen among its 28 members. Despite being one of the youngest rosters in recent years, the team's commitment to excellence has fueled a championship performance and positioned the Mounties for continued success.

Mt. SAC now turns its focus to the upcoming NCA Nationals in Daytona Beach, Fla., set for April 9-10, where the Mounties will look to build on their national success.
