Pasadena, Calif. – The bats were loud and the win streak was louder. Mt. SAC rolled to its fifth straight victory with a dominant 19-6 win over Pasadena City College on Thursday, April 2. The Mounties took control early and never looked back, improving to 16-15 overall and 13-4 in South Coast Conference play.

HOW IT HAPPENED:

Once the offense got going, there was no stopping it.

After a quiet start, Jackson Giacone flipped the switch in the third inning with a bases-clearing double to left center, bringing home Hudson Karczynski, Frankie Brazil, and Mario Cuadros. Moments later, Giacone added to the excitement by stealing home, giving the Mounties a 4-0 lead.

Mt. SAC kept piling it on in the fourth. Tyler Primanto roped an RBI double, Andrew Alva followed with an RBI single, and then Ryan Castro delivered the biggest swing of the day—a grand slam that blew the game wide open and pushed the lead to 10-0.

And they weren't done. The Mounties kept the line moving in the fifth, stringing together RBI singles from Cuadros, Giacone, Castro, and Primanto to stretch the lead to a commanding 15-0.

Pasadena finally got on the board in the sixth, but Mt. SAC answered right back. Luca Lombardi knocked in another run in the seventh, and the Mounties kept capitalizing on every opportunity, adding two more in the eighth to make it 18-1.

The Lancers put together a late rally in the eighth, scoring five runs, but the Mounties quickly shut the door. In the ninth, Brady Stull drove in Luca Lombardi with a single to cap off a 19-run performance—the team's highest scoring output of the season.

On the mound, Hudson Castillo delivered a strong outing to earn his fifth win, going six innings while allowing just one earned run and striking out four. Noah Tanphanich and Jack Rudometkin came in to finish things off and secure the victory.
